Just a quick poll among you, my few but faithful and dear readers.
What is your favorite fruit?
I'm interested because I'd like to introduce new/different fruits to my kids but I'm not entirely sure where to start since my personal fruit consumption has been limited to the more mundane (apples, oranges, bananas, pineapple, grapefruit).

Papaya is one of my favorites! It is juicy and sweet and very good for digestion.
ReplyDeleteI like lots of different fruit. Kiwi and mango might be nice additions.
ReplyDeleteHowever, I'd like to suggest a slightly different approach. I'm a big fan of eating locally grown fruit in season. For me, this includes lots of berries, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries and blackberries. It also includes plums and pears.
If you get a chance, go fruit picking with your kids, it can be a wonderful experience. Also, spend some time finding out about different variants of fruit. For examples, there are many, many different types of apples. Try a lot of different types. They can provide wonderful variation.
Truthfully, I hate most fruits and won't eat any alone unless forced to do so. If fruits are cooked with other items, I can tolerate them. Probably the ones I like the most are raisins in breads and rolls or maraschino cherries in desserts and candies.
ReplyDeletemy personal favorite would be mango
ReplyDeletenot much of a fruit eater but hands down to mangoes!
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the suggestions!

ReplyDeleteI like cherries when I find them in the grocer, other than then grapes and plums are my favorites.
ReplyDeleteI would have to go with grapes, which are particularly nice if you keep a handful in the freezer and enjoy them after doing something active.
ReplyDeleteMangoes, pears and watermelons. Yummy! :)
