So I did a bit of browsing around the web and found a bunch of funny pictures of cats. Links only as I don't own the pics and have no funny cat of my own.

So my question is why we find such pictures amusing? Why are cats (and other animals) so darned funny?
In a way, many of these photos could be construed as cruel or mean spirited though they have been posted only in hopes of brightening our days. I believe that funny pictures of cats are funny simply because they let us know how good we have it.

Well I guess funny pics of cats are funny because we associate them with human-like behavior hat is also funny to begin with.

I think cats have very strong personalities and that personality shows in photographs. They really understand the history of themselves and the respect they commanded in different cultures.

ReplyDeleteCats are funny because a)their big eyes and big ears give them a range of cute/goofy expressions b)they think they're all that and a bag of chips so seeing them be uncool lets out every cat owner's hidden haha-you-loser side :D It's easy to be mean to cats as anything short of being fed the finest foods and being left alone to nap is seen as cruel by them, mine try to meow and whine if I dare to sing while they sleep, so yes I'll laugh at them if they get wet :D
ReplyDeleteCats are funny because they cat so serious and yet get caught in such comical situations sometimes, we don't think of them as aloof and playful as dogs.
